About our centre

Our Darlinghurst Medical provides a wide range of general practice and healthcare services to support patients of all ages. Our team of experienced doctors understand the needs of the local inner‑city Sydney community.

Conveniently located near Oxford Street and close to Surry Hills, Paddington and the Sydney CBD, our clinic offers care across areas such as preventative health, chronic disease management, skin checks, women’s health and mental health support.

We care for a diverse mix of patients, from local residents and young professionals to families and older adults living and working around Darlinghurst, Surry Hills and nearby neighbourhoods. Whether you’re dropping in before work, visiting between errands along Oxford Street or managing ongoing care close to home, we aim to make healthcare feel straightforward, personal and easy to fit into your daily life.

With easy access to public transport, nearby local amenities and a focus on continuity of care, we aim to make healthcare simple, accessible and connected to your community.

Care, like a local. Part of Bupa, open to all.

Policies

Darlinghurst Medical (previously Oxford Village Medical Centre) is a mixed billing centre. This means some patients and services are bulk billed, while others will have out-of-pocket costs.

We bulk bill for:

  • flu and COVID-19 vaccinations
  • wound care reviews
  • Chronic Disease Management plans
  • Team Care Arrangements

Some other things to know:

  • Dr Allison Ward also bulk bills for children under 10 years old.
  • Some health assessments may also be bulk billed. Call the centre to see if you're eligible.
  • Sexual health clinic appointments may be bulk billed at the practitioner's discretion. This includes screening and results for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), as well as appointments about prescriptions for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and contraception.
  • Overseas students and visitors will need to pay the full fee on the day, before making a claim with their health insurer.

We understand that plans change, and so do your health needs. But cancellations and no-shows inconvenience other patients by taking up appointment times.

That's why we charge a fee of $40 if you provide less than 6 hours’ notice. We’ll ask you to pay this fee during your next visit.
