Medicare Urgent Care Clinics do not provide treatment for regular checkups or complex conditions. Your local GP should continue to be your first point of contact for non-emergency, routine and preventative health care.
An Urgent Care Clinic can NOT provide replacements for lost, stolen or destroyed prescriptions - Including prescriptions for pain medications and other controlled substances.
Medicare Urgent Care Clinics give you and your family more options to see a doctor or nurse when urgent, but not life-threatening, care is needed.
This is your regular, trusted doctor. Your general practice should be the first place you go for all your health needs, except emergencies. Some GPs are open outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Emergency departments should be reserved for situations that could result in loss of life or limb if not treated immediately.
