Partnering for Healthier Futures: Bupa Foundation and NACCHO Unite on Diabetes Prevention.
We’re proud to partner with the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) to tackle diabetes in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Diabetes is three times more common among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and is a major contributor to other health challenges like kidney and heart disease.
With our support, NACCHO is developing a specialised diabetes training pathway for up to 500 Aboriginal Health Workers and Aboriginal Health Practitioners. This investment will empower more local health professionals with the skills and knowledge they need to run prevention and support programs, right on Country.
We know that lasting health outcomes are only possible when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are at the centre. By backing this workforce upskilling program, we’re helping to build a legacy of stronger, healthier communities, now and for generations to come.
If you’d like to help amplify this impact, donate to the Bupa Foundation today.
