Overseas Health Advice Line

We know that life doesn’t stand still and neither do you, so if you have health cover with us we’re here to support you in managing your health wherever you are.

The last thing you want is to get sick when you’re travelling and it can be stressful if you’re unwell overseas and don’t know where to go. But you don’t have to do it on your own. We’re here to help make it easier with friendly support and advice just a phone call away.

Our 24-hour Overseas Health Advice Line* is exclusive to Bupa members and can give you helpful information, including:

  • basic advice on simple medical problems from doctors and nurses
  • medical referrals including directions to the nearest suitable medical facility
  • assistance with reviewing medical bills including medical translation/interpreter services
  • follow-up calls after your appointment.

And if you’re planning your trip, you can get medical information on the countries you are visiting before you head off. We’ll let you know about potential health risks for your destination and give you tips on how to stay healthy while you’re travelling. You can also read our top tips for healthy travel here.

If you’re visiting Australia to live or work, you can use the advice line here for local health advice.
