Bupa Health Insurance has engaged with Cardihab and Honeysuckle Health to help our customers living with a cardiac condition or following a recent cardiac event, procedure or diagnosis.
Cardihab is the developer of the cardiac rehabilitation program and mobile app. Honeysuckle Health deliver the program via a team of registered nurses.
For eligible customers* the Cardihab program offers:
Cardiac rehab in the comfort and convenience of home, at no extra cost#
Weekly coaching sessions with a registered nurse for the duration of the 6-week program
Access to the Cardihab App for symptom monitoring and education resources
What does the program provide?
For people who have recently experienced a cardiac event or procedure, completing a cardiac rehabilitation program under the supervision of a clinician is an important step to help you recover and reduce the chances of another cardiac event.
A registered nurse from Honeysuckle Health who is experienced in cardiac care or chronic disease management will undertake an assessment to ensure you are suitable for the program+.
The 6-week Cardihab program provides:
- A personalised care plan that is designed and tailored to meet agreed clinical needs, customer goals and risk factor management in relation to your cardiac health
- Weekly one-on-one phone calls^ with a registered nurse from Honeysuckle Health to monitor progress and provide health coaching and education in relation to your cardiac health
- Access to the Cardihab app (SmartCR by Cardihab) to record relevant health data
- Medication tracking, care plan reminders and motivational notifications in relation to your recovery via the app
- Ongoing use of the app for 12-months after discharge~
- With your consent, follow-up support and information from Bupa Telehealth (if eligible).

Program eligibility
If you meet the following criteria, you may be eligible for the Cardihab program:
- You are a Bupa Health Insurance customer with a hospital policy that includes unrestricted cover for heart and vascular system – check what you’re covered for or contact us
- You can access the Cardihab program in available areas (NSW, Vic, Qld, SA, and WA).
- You have had a cardiac event, procedure or diagnosis in the 30 days prior to your assessment by Honeysuckle Health or are living with a cardiac condition that is suitable for cardiac rehabilitation.
- You meet all clinical requirements outlined during the assessment process with Honeysuckle Health, including a cardiac rehabilitation referral from your treating cardiologist, specialist or GP if requested.
- You have a compatible smart device to download the Cardihab app and a reliable internet connection.#

The program is being made available to eligible Bupa Health Insurance customers until 9 May 2026.

+Depending on your level of cover some out-of-pocket costs may apply, like hospital excess or co-payments, fees for medical tests or specialist consultations not covered by bulk billing, and medication. Additional expenses such as having a compatible smart device and reliable phone and internet connection also apply for virtually delivered care.
#To ensure customer clinical suitability and safety, a Honeysuckle Health clinician must conduct an assessment with you to check your suitability for the program. As part of your assessment, they may request a referral from your treating cardiologist, specialist or GP.
^Weekly phone calls will be scheduled directly with Honeysuckle Health registered nurses and occur within their operating hours of Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (AEST/AEDT). Calls won’t be scheduled on public holidays.
~Ongoing use of the Cardihab app after the completion of the program does not include any clinical supervision or support funded by Bupa. The app’s availability is at the discretion of Cardihab alone.
Bupa Health Insurance will fund eligible customers in accordance with their policy issued by Bupa Health Insurance Pty Ltd. To avoid doubt, Bupa Telehealth Pty Ltd and Bupa Health Centres Pty Ltd are not involved in the design and delivery of the program.
