What does the arrangement provide
Inpatient care with an Advara HeartCare cardiologist
Eligible Bupa health insurance customers who are hospitalised with a heart condition^ may have no out-of-pocket expenses# for inpatient services provided by an Advara HeartCare cardiologist.
For example, if you are admitted to hospital for a pacemaker or stent placement or a cardiologist is consulted during your hospital stay, you will not be charged an out-of-pocket cost when these services are performed by an Advara HeartCare cardiologist. However, you may be charged by other specialists involved in your care, such as an anaesthetist or assistant surgeon. Read our advice on how to check if you’re covered.
Outpatient care in an Advara HeartCare heart failure clinic
Eligible domestic Bupa health insurance customers who have been hospitalised with heart failure may have no out-of-pocket expenses# for outpatient services provided at select Advara HeartCare clinics in Victoria~.
For example, if you’ve been previously hospitalised for heart failure and require ongoing management, you can access a face-to-face Advara HeartCare heart failure program for up to 24 months from program enrolment. The program includes a tailored heart failure management plan, regular consultations including with specialist heart failure cardiologists, nurses and exercise physiologists, cardiac testing as needed, and education for self-management knowledge and skills in relation to managing your heart failure.

If you meet the following criteria, you may be eligible to benefit from this partnership:
Inpatient care with an Advara HeartCare cardiologist
- You are a Bupa customer with a hospital policy that includes unrestricted cover for heart and vascular system – check what you’re covered for or contact us
- You are admitted to hospital for a procedure related to a heart condition^ and treated by an Advara HeartCare cardiologist.
Outpatient care in an Advara HeartCare clinic
- You are a Bupa customer with a domestic hospital policy that includes unrestricted cover for heart and vascular system – check what you’re covered for or contact us
- You are 18 years or older
- You have been hospitalised with heart failure and meet all other clinical requirements outlined during the screening process
- You can attend one of the select participating Advara HeartCare clinics in Victoria~.

#Depending on your level of cover some out-of-pocket costs may apply, like hospital excess or co-payments, fees for medical tests or specialist consultations not covered by bulk billing, medication not available on PBS, and increased utility bills including phone and internet charges and smart device maintenance. Please obtain an Informed Financial Consent from the hospital and treating team to understand the costs which you will incur before your admission.

Heart failure clinics are currently available at Advara HeartCare Centres in Berwick, Bundoora, Doncaster East and Mulgrave in Victoria. The program offering by Advara HeartCare may expand to additional locations in future. This webpage will be updated as other locations become available, so please check back over time.
^The Advara HeartCare funding arrangement applies only to certain inpatient cardiology services and procedures. If you are admitted for a service or procedure that is excluded from the funding arrangement, you will not be eligible for no-gap inpatient cardiology services from an Advara HeartCare cardiologist.
