At Bupa, we provide a great range of benefits for ancillary services (extras). Eligible Bupa health insurance customers may receive benefits for ancillary services if they are provided by practitioners who are recognised by our fund and in private practice.

If your profession is recognised by Medicare, you can receive accreditation by obtaining a provider number from Medicare Australia. Medicare will notify Bupa of the provider number, provider details, and all relevant practice information.

Call the Medicare provider enquiry line on 132 150 to initiate the process, or contact Medicare via the Services Australia website.

When providing services to Bupa health insurance customers, providers must also conform with the recognition requirements listed for their profession and comply with Bupa's Ancillary Provider Terms (PDF).
