What is the Dietitian Health Coaching service?

Dietitian Health coaching offers Bupa members on the above covers over-the-phone personalised nutrition coaching with a qualified dietitian, where you’ll choose a nutrition area you want to focus on.

The Dietitian Health Coaching service can provide you with support across a wide range of nutrition areas, including:

  • general healthy eating
  • healthy eating for the family
  • weight management
  • fertility/pregnancy
  • vegetarian/vegan diets
  • allergies, intolerances or other gastro-intestinal disturbances
  • diabetes control or prevention
  • cardiovascular disease health
  • sports nutrition

The dietitian will work with you to identify your nutrition goal/s and provide you with tailored advice and support to assist in reaching your goals.

How does the service work?

You will be paired up with your own dietitian coach who will arrange a phone appointment at a time that suits you.

During the first appointment, the dietitian will ask you to share your nutrition goals and discuss your current food intake, lifestyle routines and any relevant medical history. This will enable the dietitian to tailor the information and advice they provide you to your unique situation.

The role of your dietitian coach is to give you nutritional information and advice that is designed to help meet your individual needs, along with plenty of motivation and support! They’ll spend time discussing strategies that could work best for you and potential barriers that you’re likely to face, to assist in setting you up for success to achieve your goals.

At the end of your first appointment the dietitian will arrange a suitable time for your follow up phone appointment. This provides a great opportunity to review how you have gone working towards your goals, discuss any barriers you faced, revisit strategies and if necessary adjust or set new goals.

The dietitian will send you a summary via email or post after each phone appointment of what you discussed in addition to any relevant information or tools to assist you in meeting your goals.

Coaching contact hours;

Monday-Thursday: 8am-7pm (Eastern Standard Time)
Friday: 8am-5pm (Eastern Standard Time)

Waiting periods

Members must have served their 2-month initial waiting period before engaging in program.

Ultimate Health Cover

Ultimate Health Cover members are entitled to a maximum of 3 phone appointments over a 2-4 month period which can be utilised every calendar year.

Up to 3 phone calls with a Bupa Dietitian per person:

  • 1 X 45-60 minutes
  • 2 X 15-30 minutes

Prime Plus, Simple Start & OSHC Extras

Members on Prime Plus, Simple Start & OSHC Extras are entitled to a maximum of 2 phone appointments over a 2-3-month period once every calendar year, which can be utilised every calendar year.

Up to 2 phone calls with a Bupa Dietitian per person:

  • 1 x 45-60 min
  • 1x 15-30 min
