Bupa Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance for seniors

You may be an experienced traveller, or this may be the trip or a lifetime you have been saving for, either way you want to ensure you have the right insurance to cover you while travelling.

Bupa Travel Insurance policy is available to all ages, but if you are 70 years of age or over, travelling internationally, a medical assessment will be required before we can offer you cover.

If you have a pre-existing medical condition you can apply for the optional pre-existing medical cover by completing our online medical assessment (if you are 70 years of age or over this will be included in the medical assessment you are required to complete, so you only have to apply once).

If cover is approved, the usual benefits of Bupa Travel Insurance policy are available and are not limited in any way because of your age.

If you’re travelling with medication, make sure it’s legal in the countries you are travelling to. Get a letter from your doctor detailing the medication, and stating it is for your own personal use; and leave the medication in its original packaging so it’s clearly labelled with your name and dosage instructions.

There are government websites you can also check for further advice before you travel, such as:

Remember to always read the Travel Insurance Product Disclosure Statement and Policy (PDS) (PDF, 608KB) to understand what is and isn't covered by your policy.
