These terms and conditions (‘Terms’) apply to your participation in Life Rewards, including your access to and use of the Life Rewards Platform. By accessing and using the Life Rewards Platform, you accept and agree to comply with the Terms and any other terms or conditions contained on the Life Rewards Platform from time to time. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Life Rewards Platform. Please ensure you read these Terms.
Privacy collection notice
If you are an:
- Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member, Bupa HI Pty Ltd (Bupa HI) collects and uses your personal information; and
- Eligible Blua Member, Bupa Telehealth Pty Ltd (Blua) collects and uses your personal information,
to provide you with access to Life Rewards.
Bupa HI and Blua will share your information with anyone engaged by us or acting on our behalf in providing Life Rewards to you. This includes EonX Services Pty Ltd (‘EonX’), who help us deliver Life Rewards to you. EonX will handle your information in accordance with their privacy policy, which you can view at eonx.com/privacy-policy. We may also share your information with our related companies within the Bupa Group.
Bupa HI handles your information as outlined in the Bupa HI Information Handling Policy, available at bupa.com.au/privacy-and-security. Blua handles your personal information as outlined in the Blua Privacy Policy, available at blua.bupa.com.au/privacy-policy. You can also refer to these privacy policies for further details about how you can request access to, or correction of the information we hold about you, how you can make a complaint about the handling of your personal information by us and how we will manage that complaint.
When you redeem Rewards or make purchases through Life Rewards, we will collect information about the partners and brands you have interacted with or, in the case of eShop purchases, the specific products you have purchased. We use this information to provide you with a personalised Life Rewards experience and for data analytics purposes.
1. Life Rewards
1.1. Life Rewards is Bupa’s reward and recognition program for Eligible Customers being Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members of Bupa HI Pty Ltd (ABN 81 000 057 590) and Eligible Blua Members of Bupa Telehealth (ABN 31 142 900 472).
1.2. Offers, savings and Rewards offered as part of Life Rewards may be provided or facilitated by third parties including Rewards Partners or EonX.
1.3. Participation in Life Rewards is available to any Eligible Customer. Life Rewards is accessible via myBupa.com.au, myBupa app, Blua app and liferewards.bupa.com.au.
2. Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for Life Rewards, you must be an Eligible Customer. Additional terms and conditions may apply to the redemption of a particular offer or Reward.
2.1. Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member
2.1.1. An Eligible Bupa Health Insurance member who has registered via myBupa, can access Life Rewards, however you may not participate if:
- one or more of your active Bupa Policies are suspended or cancelled.
- the premium payments for all Bupa Policies are overdue or in arrears. If this is the case, your access to Life Rewards may be suspended until such time that the arrears have been cleared.
- they cease their Bupa Policy and no longer holds a Bupa Policy, their Life Rewards account will no longer be accessible to them.
- they are granted a suspension due to hardship, sickness or overseas travel, they will no longer be eligible to access Life Rewards.
- their Bupa Policy is cancelled for more than 12 consecutive months or suspended for more than 24 consecutive months. The Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member’s tenure of the policy will be reset to zero and start again once a new Bupa Policy is purchased or the suspended Bupa Policy is reactivated. An Eligible Bupa Heath Insurance Member’s Life Rewards account will no longer be accessible to them when their Bupa Policy is ceased or suspended.
- they re-join Bupa within 12 months of cancelling their Bupa Policy. Their new enrolment date will be recorded. However, the Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member can contact Bupa on 134 135 to have their original enrolment date honoured for the purpose of accessing Tiered Rewards. Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members who re-join Bupa, will be issued a new Bupa Membership number. To enable access to Life Rewards, Eligible Bupa Health Members must use their new Bupa Membership details to re-register for myBupa and create a new Life Rewards account. Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members will not be able to access any previous Life Rewards accounts, including their transaction history.
- an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member that is not a Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member on a specific policy leaves the policy and establishes their own policy within 12 months, their new enrolment year will be recorded. However, they can contact Bupa on 134 135 to have the enrolment date from their previous Bupa Policy honoured for the purpose of accessing Tiered Rewards. For example, if a dependant is covered under their parent’s policy with Life Member status, and they leave that policy to immediately establish their own Bupa Policy, they will be able to retain the Life Member status on their new Bupa Policy as long as they contact Bupa, and it can be confirmed they were an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member of that previous policy.
- the Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member of a Bupa Policy becomes deceased, another Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member on that Bupa Policy can become the Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member. When this occurs, a new enrolment date will be recorded. However, the Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member can contact Bupa on 134 135 to have the deceased Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member’s original enrolment date honoured for the purpose of accessing Life Rewards in having the correct tier reflected. This is available for the new Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member even if they move to another existing or new policy, as long as they remain on an eligible Bupa Policy.
- two existing Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members who are Primary Bupa Health Insurance Members combine their policies into one Bupa Policy, a new enrolment date will be recorded. However, the Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member can contact Bupa on 134 135 to have whichever Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member previously held the highest tenure bands enrolment date honoured, as long as that person is the Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member of the new Bupa Policy for the purpose of accessing Tiered Rewards.
2.1.2. An Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member must meet any new or updated eligibility criteria for the Life Rewards program that Bupa may introduce from time to time.
2.1.3. For Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members any change of Membership Tier may take up to 10 business day to reflect on the Life Rewards Platform.
2.1.4. Bupa reserves the right to terminate, or suspend your access to Life Rewards, including any offers made under the program for:
- any unreasonable or commercial use of any offers and Rewards available in Life Rewards;
- any breach of these Terms;
- any breach of the terms of any other service provided to you by Bupa;
- any detected fraudulent activity; or
- any other valid reason determined by Bupa as the need arises (acting reasonably).
2.1.5. Bupa may determine not to provide offers available on Life Rewards to Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members to the extent necessary to comply with any relevant laws, including the Private Health Insurance Act 2007 and Private Health Insurance (Complying Product) Rules 2015) and the Bupa Fund Rules.
2.2. Eligible Blua Member
2.2.1. Eligible Blua Members can access offers and Rewards as part of the Lite Member Tier described in clause 4.1. These offers and Rewards are only available across selected categories for Eligible Blua Members (who are not Eligible Bupa Heath Insurance Members) meaning they will have only limited access to Life Rewards.
2.2.2. An Eligible Blua Member must meet any new or updated eligibility criteria for the Life Rewards program that Bupa may introduce from time to time.
2.2.3. For Eligible Blua Members any change of Membership Tier may take up to 10 business day to reflect on the Life Rewards Platform
2.2.4. Bupa reserves the right to terminate, or suspend your access to Life Rewards, including any offers made under the program for:
- any unreasonable or commercial use of any offers and Rewards available in Life Rewards;
- any breach of these Terms, the Blua App Terms or the Website Terms;
- any breach of the terms of any other service provided to you by Bupa;
- any detected fraudulent activity; or
- any other valid reason determined by Bupa as the need arises (acting reasonably).
2.2.5. Bupa may also determine not to provide offers available on Life Rewards to Eligible Blua Members to the extent necessary to comply with any relevant laws.
3. Eligible Health Insurance Policies
3.1. All Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members may receive benefits, offers and rewards in Life Rewards pursuant to their Membership Tier (based on tenure).
3.2. General Insurance including Travel, Car, Home, Pet and Landlord Insurance, do not qualify as eligible policies under Life Rewards.
3.3. Tiered Rewards are only available to Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members that maintain a Tiered Rewards Policy Continuously for the required tenure.
3.4. An Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member’s tenure is calculated as the Continuous number of years that have passed since the Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member’s enrolment date for the purpose of participating in Tiered Rewards. If Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members are listed on multiple policies, their tenure will be calculated as the Continuous number of years that have passed on the longest standing policy, since the Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member’s enrolment date for the purpose of participating in Tiered Rewards.
3.5. If an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member has moved from a Bupa Policy that is not a Tiered Rewards Policy onto a Bupa Policy that is a Tiered Rewards Policy, their tenure will be calculated from the date the eligible policy commenced. For example, if an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member is an International Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member and changes to a Tiered Rewards Policy, they would become eligible to participate in Life Rewards and their tenure will be calculated from the date their International Eligible Bupa Health Insurance policy commenced.
3.6. Bupa retains the sole discretion to determine, from time to time, which Bupa Policies qualify (or do not qualify) as eligible Life Rewards policies. Bupa also reserves the right to, at its discretion, allocate an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member to a higher Membership Tier than they would ordinarily qualify for. As Life Rewards has been designed to recognise members for their tenure with Bupa, an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member can only move upwards through the Life Rewards tiers if they continue to maintain an eligible Bupa Policy. Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members who feel they have been placed in the incorrect tier can contact Bupa on 134 135.
4. Rewards
Bupa, at its discretion, may offer from time-to-time different offers and Rewards to Eligible Customers depending on their Membership Tier.
There are different benefits available to Eligible Customers in Life Rewards based on the relevant Membership Tier:
4.1. Lite Member Tier
These offers and Rewards can be accessed by Eligible Blua Members. The offers and Rewards are only across selected categories as Eligible Blua Members have limited access to Life Rewards.
4.2. Level 1 – Member
These offers and Rewards can be accessed by Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members by utilising individual myBupa credentials upon login. Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members have access to Level 1 range of offers and Rewards across a range of savings including retail, wellness, fitness, entertainment and travel categories.
4.3. Tiered Rewards (Accessible for Tiers, Level 2 to Life Member)
Tiered Rewards recognises an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member’s tenure with Bupa by providing increased offers and Rewards, across four (4) tier bands based on tenure. Tiered Rewards provides recognition to our Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members based on the length of time they have Continuously held a Tiered Rewards Policy. To ensure our Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members correctly receive the exclusive offers and Rewards available for their tenure, Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members who hold multiple Tiered Rewards Policies will receive Tiered Rewards access based on the longest standing Bupa Policy.
5. Rewards Partners
5.1. Eligible Customers may access offers and Rewards in different ways, based on the relevant Reward Partners’ requirements. This may involve clicking on a website link, utilising a promotional code, displaying a Bupa Membership card (if applicable) in-store, completing a registration process, or other processes as specified by Life Rewards and the Reward Partner or EONX.
5.2. All eGift Card, Cinema eVouchers, Restaurant, Cashback, holiday package, eShop and competition offers and Rewards available in Life Rewards are facilitated and fulfilled by EONX. All other offers available through Life Rewards are fulfilled directly by our Rewards Partners.
5.3. Eligible Customers must follow the specified process by the relevant Reward Partner to successfully access their selected offers and Rewards. Where applicable, expiry dates will be published relating to particular offers and Rewards on the Life Rewards Platform. Rewards cannot be redeemed once the expiry date has passed. Where an offer is accepted but is unavailable for any reason, Bupa, and our Reward Partners, reserve the right to offer a refund or substitute all or part of any such item with another offer of equal or greater value. All offers and Rewards are subject to availability (e.g., stock availability) which may not be within the control of Life Rewards.
5.4. Any individual offers and Rewards may be subject to separate terms and conditions referred to on the promotional webpages for the offer (such as the Life Rewards Platform or other specified webpage). Eligibility for these other offers and Rewards is subject to those additional terms and conditions.
5.5. Bupa reserves the right to introduce and modify spending and quantity limits at any time without prior notice. We may implement these limits based on various factors, including user behaviour, market demands, and the overall integrity of the Life Rewards Platform. Consequences for users found violating these limits may include, but are not limited to, account suspension or termination, order cancellations, and legal action if deemed necessary. Please note that these limits are in place to create a positive and fair experience for all users. By continuing to use the Life Rewards Platform, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these limits as outlined above.
5.6. Life Rewards Coupon Codes
- Blua app users may be eligible to claim a Reward in Life Rewards by successfully completing a challenge.
- Eligible Customers may receive Coupon Codes from Bupa to be used on the Life Rewards Platform. The availability and redemption of these Life Rewards Coupon Codes are facilitated, funded, and fulfilled by our Reward Partner EONX Services Pty Ltd, ABN 39 615 958 873.
- Any Coupon Codes issued will be valid for use during a specified validity period. Coupon Codes will not be extended beyond the stated offer period under any circumstances.
- Coupon Codes may be offered from time to time exclusively to selected Eligible Customers under limited time offers. As such, they may not be available to other Eligible Customers at the time of issuance. Each Coupon Code issued are unique and are non-transferrable and is intended solely for the use by the designated recipient only. Bupa is not responsible for any unauthorised access to, use, loss or theft of a Coupon Code. If a Coupon Code is lost or stolen, Bupa is under no obligation to replace it in any form.
- Coupon Codes can be redeemed for the face value specified and can be applied towards the purchase of eligible items including discounted eGift cards, Dining eGift cards, Cinema eVouchers and eShop purchases. Redemption must occur via the Life Rewards shopping cart checkout page within the Life Rewards Platform. Coupon Codes can only be applied towards payment for in-stock items only. In circumstances where the total purchase price is higher than the value of the Coupon Code, you will need to pay the difference using an accepted form of payment method such as Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Mastercard Debit, and/or any Cashback (if available in your available funds balance). Items purchased using a Coupon Code can be gifted to another individual by using the “send as gift” functionality on the Life Rewards Platform.
- Coupon Codes are not transferrable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. They cannot be used as payment towards your Bupa Policy, Bupa optical or dental services, or other health and wellness products or services offered by Bupa, if applicable.
- Each Coupon Code is valid for one-time use only and will expire upon redemption. Any unused amount remaining after a transaction will be forfeited and cannot be carried over or refunded.
- Coupon Codes cannot be applied retroactively to past purchases and may only be used for purchases made during the specified validity period.
5.7. If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and any additional terms and conditions, the terms will apply in the following order of precedence (from highest to lowest):
- specific terms for the redemption and supply of an offer or Reward;
- specific terms for a Life Rewards promotion;
- these Terms;
- any Third-Party Terms;
- Bupa HI Information Handling Policy and the Blua Privacy Policy;
- the Bupa.com.au terms and conditions;
- the myBupa terms and conditions; and
- the Blua App Terms and the Website Terms.
5.8. It is your responsibility to read and accept the specific terms and conditions associated with each offer or Rewards before redeeming it.
5.9. The supply of merchandise, services, eGift Cards and eVouchers as part of a Reward is also subject to the terms of the relevant Reward Partner. These may include, but are not limited to, terms relating to:
- product or service warranties;
- delivery times;
- delivery costs (if any);
- taxes or duties payable such as GST (if any); and
- any additional out-of-pocket expenses or surcharges associated with the Reward, and by redeeming the relevant Reward, the Eligible Customer acknowledges that they agree with those terms.
5.10. Manufacturer’s terms and warranties may also apply to the relevant offers and Rewards.
5.11. Where the delivery of a Reward or offer involves the physical delivery of merchandise, it is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete delivery details at the point of purchase or redemption. Bupa and its Reward Partners are not responsible for, and will not replace any products, delivered to incorrect addresses submitted by you. Unless otherwise specified on the Life Rewards Platform or the relevant Rewards Partner platform, delivery will be made by ordinary post and the delivery addresses must be within Australia.
5.12. Images of offers and Rewards displayed in the Life Rewards Platform are for illustrative purposes only and may not be to scale.
5.13. To the extent permitted by law, Bupa will not be liable for any failure caused by Reward Partners to provide, supply or fulfill the relevant offer or Reward.
5.14. Offers that require payment to a Reward Partner will only be processed upon payment in full to the Reward Partner (or their agent) including any applicable GST. For any issues related to orders placed via Reward Partners, including cancellations, refund requests, delayed or missing deliveries or damaged goods, Eligible Customers must contact the Reward Partner to resolve the matter. Bupa is not responsible for the fulfillment or handling or such issues.
5.15. If a Reward Partner is unable or unwilling to resolve an issue, the Eligible Customer may escalate their complaint to the Life Rewards support team by:
- Emailing us at contact@liferewards.bupa.com.au; or
- Submitting a webform via the ‘contact us’ page on Life Rewards Help - Life Rewards.
We will review the matter and assist where reasonably possible.
5.16. Bupa will make reasonable efforts to seek resolution of the issue on the Eligible Customer’s behalf. However, Bupa does not accept liability for any loss or damage arising from the issue. Nothing in this clause limits or excludes any rights or remedies that an Eligible Customer may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable Federal, State or Territory consumer protection legislation, which cannot be excluded by law.
6. Cashback, available funds, Member Profile and eWallet
6.1. Cashback is stored in the available funds balance section of an Eligible Customers account. Cashback can take up to 120 days from the date of the original transaction to become available in the Eligible Customers account available funds balance.
6.2. Cashback stored in an Eligible Customer’s account can only be used on the Life Rewards Platform (excluding retailers listed under the 'Offers', 'Cashback' and 'Travel' section) and cannot be transferred between members, exchanged for physical cash or transferred to the Eligible Customers bank account.
6.3. Available funds will remain in the Member Profile until they expire or at such time that an Eligible Blua Members account or Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member’s Bupa Policy is ceased or terminated for any reason.
6.4. Available funds will expire if the Eligible Customer has not logged onto their Life Rewards account in at least 18 months.
6.5. The saved to date calculator located in your Member Profile displays the total amount of money you have saved across all offers redeemed through the Life Rewards checkout. This includes discounts on eGift cards, cinema eVouchers, items purchased on the eShop and Restaurant offers.
6.6. Savings arising from transactions made outside of Life Rewards such as those completed directly on the Reward Partner’s website will not appear in the saved to date calculator section within the Member Profile. This includes, Cashback purchases and offers, and Rewards redeemed through the online offer section of Life Rewards.
6.7. The eWallet is where all purchased eGift Cards and eVouchers are securely stored and can be accessed for future use. It is located within your Member Profile.
7. Consumer protection laws
7.1. Under consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law, certain statutory guarantees and warranties may apply to the supply of goods or services provided to you as a consumer. The nature and application of these guarantees and warranties will depend on the circumstances.
7.2. Nothing in these Terms, including any disclaimer, limitation of liability or indemnity, is intended to exclude any rights, guarantees or warranties which may not be excluded by law. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, any liability incurred by Bupa in relation to the use of the Life Rewards Platform is limited to the extent provided for by Australian Consumer Law.
8. General Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
8.1. Subject to any consumer protection laws, neither Bupa nor its affiliates and any of their respective employees, agents, third party content providers nor licensors make any express or implied representation or warranty about, or shall be liable, in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, for:
- The unavailability of the Life Rewards Platform; or
- Events beyond Bupa’s control, such as internet connection availability.
8.2. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bupa excludes all warranties (whether express, implied, or statutory) relating in any way to the Life Rewards Platform and Bupa will not be liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage you might suffer as a result of the following:
- Failure of, or delay in, the performance, operation or transmission of this Life Rewards Platform or data on or through the Life Rewards Platform, a computer virus or other harmful component, a loss of data, a communication line failure, unlawful third party conduct, or theft, destruction, alteration or unauthorised access to records, save to the extent that such loss or claim arises directly from Bupa’s breach of these Terms, the applicable law, negligence or wilful misconduct;
- Your accessing of any websites or servers maintained by other organisations through links on this Life Rewards Platform. Links are provided for convenience only, and we do not accept responsibility for the content or operation of those websites. Unless otherwise stated, we do not endorse linked websites or their products and services; and
- Any defamatory, threatening, offensive or unlawful conduct of third parties.
9. Information on the Life Rewards Platform
9.1. All reasonable efforts are made to ensure that the information provided in relation to Life Rewards in communications with Eligible Customers and on the Life Rewards Platform is accurate and correct. However, to the extent permitted by law, Bupa does not accept any liability for any inaccuracies or incomplete information.
9.2. Bupa does not make any representations or warranties regarding the accuracy of the content contained in Life Rewards. Bupa does not accept any liability for loss or damages incurred by any person as a result of reliance upon the content of Life Rewards.
9.3. Unauthorised changes, additions or deletions, to the Life Rewards Platform by third parties may occur without our knowledge. If you notice any inaccuracies or issues, please contact us so we can address and correct them promptly.
10. Intellectual Property Rights
10.1. Unless otherwise indicated, all rights (including copyright) in the content and compilation of the web pages, software comprising the Life Rewards Platform (including text, graphics, logos, button icons, videos, images, audio clips, design elements, interactive features software code and data) are owned, licensed by or controlled, and are reserved, by us. The product names and images on the Life Rewards Platform may be trade marks of ours, our affiliates or third parties (including advertisers, sponsors and customers).
10.2. Except to the extent permitted by relevant copyright legislation, no trade mark of ours (whether registered or otherwise) may be used, copied, adapted, transmitted, stored, published, or distributed without our prior, specific, written permission.
10.3. The use by us of a third party trade mark on this Life Rewards Platform is not intended to indicate any association with, or endorsement by Bupa, of that trade mark or the associated entity.
11. Revisions, changes, and updates
11.1. We may remove or modify products, services, features or information available in Life Rewards at any time without notice. Bupa also reserves the right to make improvements or changes in products or services described in Life Rewards or add new features at any time without notice.
11.2. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates that may affect your participation in Life Rewards.
11.3. These Terms may be updated or amended by Bupa from time to time at its discretion. Changes include, but are not limited to:
- the offers and Rewards available;
- the expiry of Rewards;
- the suspension or termination of myBupa/ Blua app accounts; or
- the applications and/or devices that can be used to access and interact with Life Rewards (or parts of the program).
11.4. Bupa reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time by posting such notice on the homepage of the Life Rewards Platform and the Bupa.com.au Life Rewards page located at https://www.bupa.com.au/offers/members-offers/life-rewards . It is your responsibility to regularly review these pages to stay informed of any updates.
11.5. By continuing to access the Life Rewards Platform after changes are notified, you are deemed to have accepted and agree to be bound by the updated Terms. At all times, the current version of these Terms, along with the Bupa HI Information Handling Policy and Blua Privacy Policy will be available on the Life Rewards Platform.
11.6. Any changes to these Terms will not affect an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member’s tenure band status that was achieved prior to the effective date of such changes.
11.7. Bupa may do anything reasonably required (including amending these Terms, the myBupa Terms, the Blua App Terms, the Bupa.com.au terms and conditions, the Bupa HI Information Handling Policy and the Blua Privacy Policy) to ensure that Bupa and all aspects of Life Rewards related activities (including the redemption of offers and Rewards) comply with all applicable laws, including those governing private health insurance.
11.8. Bupa reserves the right to suspend or terminate Life Rewards at any time for any reason. In the event of termination, Bupa will make reasonable efforts to provide Eligible Customers with at least one months' notice.
11.9. Additionally, without prior notice to Eligible Customers, Bupa may at any time, offer additional benefits or otherwise limit, modify suspend or terminate any of the following:
- the offers and Rewards of any Membership Tier; and
- the availability of any Reward under Life Rewards.
12. User Conduct
12.1. You must only use the Life Rewards Platform for lawful purposes and for the purposes explicitly communicated to you. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Life Rewards Platform does not infringe any third party’s rights and that you comply with all relevant laws, standards and codes in relation to the Life Rewards Platform.
12.2. You must not:
- Without our prior written permission, exploit any of our content for commercial purposes;
- Copy, broadcast, reproduce, republish, store (in any medium), transmit, broadcast, distribute, show or play in public, adapt or change in any way, the content of, or create a derivative work from the Life Rewards Platform;
- Use the Life Rewards Platform, or any tools offered through the Life Rewards Platform, to violate or infringe the rights of others (including their intellectual property or privacy rights), or engage in unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, vulgar or obscene conduct which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to any person, or engage in conduct that would constitute a violation of any law;
- Tamper with, hinder the operation of, or make unauthorised modifications to the Life Rewards Platform; or
- Knowingly transmit any virus or other disabling feature to the Life Rewards Platform.
13. Severability
13.1. If anything in these Terms is found to be unenforceable, illegal or void, that provision will be severed, and the remaining provisions will continue to remain in full force and effect.
14. Applicable law
14.1. Life Rewards is intended for use by participants located in Australia and may not comply with the laws of jurisdictions outside of Australia. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with Life Rewards must be determined by the courts in Victoria. By participating in Life Rewards, you irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and agree to be bound by the laws in force in that jurisdiction.
14.2. If you access Life Rewards from outside of Australia, you do so at your own risk. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your access, use and any related transactions or dealings comply with all applicable laws in your location.
14.3. Nothing in Life Rewards constitutes an offer to provide goods or services in any jurisdiction where doing so would breach local laws or regulations. We reserve the right to refuse access to Life Rewards or to the provision of any goods or services where such access or provision would be unlawful.
15. Commissions
15.1. By participating in Life Rewards, you acknowledge that Bupa has commercial arrangements in place with certain Partners. Under these arrangements, Bupa may pay commissions to, or receive commissions from, Partners in connection with your participation in Life Rewards.
16. Tax
16.1. Any tax, liability, levy charge or duty payable by the Eligible Customer that arises in connection with an Eligible Customer’s participation in Life Rewards, including but not limited to the receipt of any Rewards, discounts, Coupon Codes, offers and Cashbacks is the sole responsibility of that Eligible Customer. Where required by law, Bupa may withhold or remit amounts or report the provision of Rewards, discounts, Coupon Codes, offers, or Cashbacks to relevant regulatory authorities.
17. Definitions
Blua App Terms means the Blua app terms and conditions located at www.blua.bupa.com.au/blua-mobile-app-terms.
Bupa Membership means the Bupa membership held by an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member of a Bupa Policy.
Bupa Fund Rules means the general terms and conditions you agree to upon taking out a Bupa Policy with Bupa.
Bupa Partner means a business that offers discounts to Eligible Customers.
Bupa Policy means a private Health Insurance policy issued by Bupa.
Rewards means a reward provided to an Eligible Customer within Life Rewards as a result of creating an account through the Blua app.
Cashback means funds earned by Eligible Customers after redeeming offers and Rewards through Cashback section of the Life Rewards Platform.
Continuously means a private health insurance policy that has been:
- held without interruption since it was first created; or
- held, but may have been suspended for no more than 24 consecutive months.
Policies which have been suspended for more than 24 consecutive months are not considered continuous and the calculation of the tenure of the policy will start again from zero when the policy is reactivated.
Coupon Code means is a unique, limited time only code that is non-transferable and is intended for single use by the recipient only.
Eligible Blua Member means someone who is 15 years and over, has downloaded the Blua app and successfully created an account.
Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members means a person that holds a Bupa Health Insurance Policy that is either:
- Domestic hospital policy;
- Domestic extras policy (including ambulance only policies); or
- Domestic combined hospital and extras policy.
In addition, an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member is a person that:
- has a current Australian residential address; and
- is over 15 years of age.
Eligible Customers means both an Eligible Blua Member and an Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member.
International Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member means a person that holds a Bupa Policy that is either:
- Overseas Visitors Covers (OVC); or
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
Life Rewards is Bupa’s reward and recognition program for Eligible Customers as described in clause 1 of these Terms.
Life Rewards Platform is the website and any related application that permit access to the LifeRewards.Bupa.com.au and participation in Life Rewards.
Lite Member Tier is as described in clause 4.1 of these Terms.
Member Profile means your profile contained in your Life Rewards account.
Membership Tier refers to the tiers of Eligible Customers being:
- For Eligible Blua Members – there is just one tier, the “Lite Member Tier” and it is not based on tenure.
- For Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members – the relevant time in years the Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member has Continuously held a Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Policy, being:
- Level 1 Member: 0-5 years;
Level 2: 6 -10 years;
Level 3: 11-15 years;
Level 4: 16 - 24 years;
Life Member: 25+ years;
Partner means a Reward Partner who facilitates the supply of good or services to Eligible Customers via the Life Rewards program such as EONX or any supplier of goods or services that is identified as a program partner within the Life Rewards program from time-to-time.
Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member means the Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Member who is the Primary Bupa Health Insurance Member of a Bupa Policy.
Rewards are rewards available to Eligible Customers in accordance with their Membership Tier.
Reward Partner means a business that makes offers and Rewards available to Eligible Customers as part of Life Rewards, including a Bupa Partner.
Terms means these Life Rewards terms and conditions.
Tiered Rewards means a special category for Eligible Bupa Health Insurance Members Level 2 and above as described in these Terms.
Tiered Rewards Policies means one of the following types of Bupa Policies:
- Domestic hospital policy;
- Domestic extras policy (excluding ambulance only policies); or
- Domestic combined hospital and extras policy.
18. Acceptance and consent
18.1. When you participate in Life Rewards, accessing the Life Rewards Platform or redeeming any offers or Rewards, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
18.2. Bupa has also engaged third party providers to operate and facilitate the delivery of offers and Rewards available through the Life Rewards program. Accordingly, your use of Life Rewards and the availability of certain offers are also subject to the terms and conditions of those third-party providers including EonX's terms and conditions (Third-Party Terms). These Third-Party Terms form part of these Terms and can be accessed and reviewed on the Life Rewards Platform. The full terms and conditions applicable to each offer or Reward will also be available on the Life Rewards Platform and should be read carefully before participating in any offer.
18.3. We may update these Terms from time to time. By continuing to access the Life Rewards Platform or participate in Life Rewards after changes are made, you will be deemed to have accepted the updated Terms.
18.4. In addition to the Bupa HI Information Handling Policy and the Blua Privacy Policy, you consent to the collection of data by Bupa, for the purposes of improving and personalising your experience of Life Rewards, your use of the Life Rewards Platform, and improving the offers and Rewards offered.
18.5. If you no longer wish to receive communications about Life Rewards, you can update your communication preferences via myBupa. If you unsubscribe, you will no longer receive notifications of available offers and Rewards.
