FAQs All of Bupa's working visa cover options are designed to meet the ‘adequate health insurance’ requirement set by the Department of Home Affairs under visa condition 8501. However, if you’re on a student visa, our Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is more suitable. While in Australia on a 482 visa, you must maintain 'adequate health insurance' for you and any family members travelling with you. This condition also applies to other working-type visas, such as subclass 482, 403, 407, and more.

To help you satisfy this visa condition, you can take out working health cover with Bupa and we'll provide you with a confirmation of cover visa verification letter to support your visa application.

It's important to note that if you upgrade your cover, you'll need to serve waiting periods for any services that weren’t included on your previous cover.
