Bupa recognition criteria

Minimum educational qualifications

For Traditional Chinese Medicine Massage therapists to attain Bupa recognition for benefit payment purposes, the applicant must have completed, as a minimum, a Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine Massage at an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

The following courses meet these minimum requirements:

• Diploma of Health Science (Chinese Remedial Massage) - Endeavour College of Natural Health
• HLT50102 Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine Massage (An Mo Tui Na)
• HLT50107 Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine Massage (An Mo Tui Na)
• HLT50112 Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine Massage (An Mo Tui Na)
• HLT52115 Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Remedial Massage

Any educational qualifications attained by distance/online/external modes will not be recognised. Please contact your association for further advice. All overseas qualifications must be independently validated and assessed by VETASSESS or by the relevant Overseas Qualifications Unit (OQU).

Additionally, applicants must meet the Compulsory additional recognition requirements.

Professional associations

The following associations meet the requirements set out in the Bupa Accreditation Terms for Professional Associations. Student membership is not acceptable.
