Bupa recognition criteria

Minimum educational qualifications

For Myotherapists to attain Bupa recognition for massage benefit payment purposes, the applicant must have completed an Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy at an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Applicants without this qualification must have their current competencies assessed by an RTO to determine equivalency.

The following courses meet these minimum requirements:

• 22656VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy
• 21920VIC Advanced Diploma of Remedial Massage (Myotherapy)
• 21511VIC Advanced Diploma of Remedial Massage (Myotherapy)
• 22248VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy
• 22316VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy

Additionally, applicants must meet the compulsory additional recognition requirements.

Any educational qualifications attained by distance only learning, online learning and external modes will not be recognised. Please contact your association for further advice.

Professional associations

The following associations meet the requirements set out in the Bupa Accreditation Terms for Professional Associations. Student membership is not acceptable.
