1. Booking Information
Bookings
Here you can make a New Zealand Visa Medical Assessment booking for yourself, your family members or on behalf of others.
You will need your passport and valid credit card to make a booking. If you already have a unique Identifier (such as an NZER) please input this number otherwise leave the field blank.
Information about NZ medical exams are located on the Immigration New Zealand website.

Payments
Payments for visa assessment appointments can be made when booking though our Contact Centre, or on the day of your appointment, using American Express, MasterCard, Visa or EFTPOS via a debit card. Cash is not accepted.
If you pay online, or use a credit card in the clinic, you will be charged a card service fee of 0.495%.

Please note: if you have not made a payment to secure your booking you will need to phone the Contact Centre on 1300 794 919 to make any modifications.
Back to top2. What to expect on the day
Please arrive on time and allow up to two (2) hours for your appointment.
Please note: Friends and family are not permitted to accompany you during your immigration health examination, however children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or an adult guardian. Should a chaperone be required, Bupa Medical Visa Services will provide this on the day.
You do not need to fast, please eat and drink as normal.
If you are pregnant, you are required to bring a certificate or letter from your general practitioner confirming this. If you are menstruating, please book your appointment 4-6 days after you have finished menstruating. If you have an Immigration Adviser, you will need to bring your completed ‘Immigration Adviser Details’ form which is available via the Immigration New Zealand website.
You will need to bring:
- Valid original passport
- If the applicant's passport is not available, the following identity documents are accepted (No photocopies will be accepted). Approved identifications documents include the following:
- Original passport (the preferred identity document)
- NZ Certificate of Identity with photo
- Refugee travel document with photo
- Eyeglasses or contact lenses if you need them to see as there is an eye test.
- Information about any long term prescription medication that you take.
- Copies of medical reports about any current or previous serious medical condition(s).
3. After your appointment
How can I obtain a copy of results?
If you had your Visa Medical at a Bupa Dedicated Medical Clinic, please follow the below process. If you had your Visa Medical at a Sonic or Independent Site, you will need to contact that clinic directly.
To obtain a copy of your X-ray CD, please complete the online application form.

Health Care Imaging will send you CD in the mail within 10 working days.
To obtain a copy of your pathology results, please contact your nearest laboratory.

NSW - Please complete this form and post it to the address on the form, or fax it to (02) 9770 1068.
NT/TAS/ACT – Please contact the clinic that you had your tests at to obtain your results.
NOTE: The above numbers apply if you have had an assessment at a Bupa Dedicated assessment centre ONLY. If you have had your medical assessment at an Independent or Sonic Clinic, you must contact the clinic directly to obtain your results.
How do I get a refund?
If you have cancelled an appointment or you have not attended an appointment which you have paid for, you will need to obtain a refund as the money cannot be moved once your appointment time has passed.
To request a refund, contact us via our Enquiry Form.
If your refund has been completed, you should receive the funds back into your account within 5-7 business days of the refund being completed.
How do I get a copy of my receipt?
To resend a copy of your receipt, click on the Change/Modify link on the Bupa website and enter your customer information.
Click on the blue button that says "Messages sent" and click "Resend" next to the item you want to resend.

I’ve sent a medical report
Please be advised that any reports received will be uploaded to your Health Case.
After the report is received, it will be assessed and an outcome made available to your Visa Processing Officer within 5 business days.
