Results & Follow up

After your appointment, your assessment is submitted for review. The result of your medical assessment is usually available after 5 business days. However, sometimes we may write to you asking you to provide specialists reports or other medical information before we can make an assessment. Once you provide that information we can complete your assessment.

After your appointment, a Medical Officer of the Commonwealth may ask for further information (this will be outlined in your 884 letter ‘Opinion of a Medical Officer of the Commonwealth’). You must comply with this request as part of your Visa Medical Assessment.

Your closest Chest Clinic will call to book an appointment (make sure the contact information you’ve provided is correct) which may be several months away. The Department of Home Affairs is aware of these delays, and it won’t affect your visa.

If you have any questions, you might find the answers in your ImmiAccount. Otherwise, try contacting the Department of Home Affairs or your Medical Visa Processing Officer.
