Recognition criteria

To apply for recognition please contact your professional Association.

For Pilates Instructors to attain Bupa recognition, applicants must have completed, as a minimum, a Diploma level course in Pilates.

The following courses meet these minimum requirements:

  • Diploma in Professional Pilates Practice (91120NSW)
  • Diploma of Clinical Pilates (10426NAT)
  • Diploma in Professional Pilates Instruction

The Diploma level course in Pilates must consist of:

  • 25 hours of health sciences including anatomy and physiology;
  • 130 hours of class contact;
  • 160 hours of supervised personal practice with an accredited instructor; and
  • 200 hours of documented supervised teaching apprenticeship.

Additionally, applicants must also meet the Compulsory Additional Recognition Requirements.

Any educational qualifications substantially attained by distance only learning, online learning and external mode will not be recognised.
