Applying for sponsorship with Bupa
Bupa aims to empower our customers, employees and the wider community to live longer, happier and healthier lives.

What is a Bupa Sponsorship?
A Bupa Sponsorship is a partnership with an organisation in exchange for benefits that typically include:
- High profile audience exposure through signage and advertising
- Provision of tickets, hospitality or similar with a commercial value
- The right to use the sponsor's brands in Bupa's marketing and communication
- The target audience and purpose of the program is suitable for Bupa to include messages regarding the sale / promotion of Bupa's products and services.

What is a Community Partnership?
A Community Partnership is generally from a community group, not for profit or registered charity where the benefits allow for:
- Community benefit through a community awareness program or fundraising cause that focuses on keeping people well;
- Enhancing Bupa's corporate reputation and brand; and
- Employee involvement opportunities associated with the partnership.

What we're looking for
Bupa assesses each sponsorship proposal against the following criteria, so your sponsorship opportunity must:
- strongly align with health and wellness (i.e. encourage healthy lifestyle choices)
- be coordinated by a well respected organisation
- offer a tailored, quality range of benefits at least consistent with the level of partnership investment requested
- assist in building awareness of the Bupa brand
- offer sufficient lead time for Bupa to gain maximum sponsor benefits (four-month minimum)
- guarantee Bupa exclusivity in our business category
- be capable of generating positive local or national media coverage that integrates Bupa into the media exposure, with a plan to achieve this
- offer opportunities for Bupa and our employees to get involved with the local community
- preference for an ongoing program or activity rather than one standalone event
Current Bupa sponsorships
Activities that are not categorised as sponsorships
Philanthropic activity (e.g. donations, grants, appeals, individual fundraising etc) are not considered sponsorship activities.

The Bupa Health Foundation is one of the largest sources of corporate giving dedicated to health in Australia. It is committed to investing in health innovation and world-class research that makes a real difference to the health of the community. The Foundation is particularly interested in health initiatives that address research gaps and those aligned with its key focus areas of wellness and obesity, healthy ageing and keeping healthcare affordable. The Foundation proactively seeks out partnerships with credible organisations through a mixture of targeted programs and a competitive national Expression of Interest (EOI) grants program where new relationships are reviewed and developed.

Submission and review process
Submissions
All requests for sponsorship must be submitted via the Bupa Sponsorship online application form or Community Partnership online application form.
Important: No proposal will be reviewed unless it has been submitted using an online application form. Additional information or material may be submitted as an attachment at the end of the online application process. Bupa receives many requests for sponsorships so emailed proposals, mailed documents and requests for meetings will not be accepted without a completed online application being submitted and evaluated.
Sponsorship evaluation
Bupa evaluates all sponsorship proposals submitted via the completed online application form. We will endeavour to respond to your application within 4 weeks.
During this period you may be asked for more information or to attend an initial meeting. Please ensure that your application is submitted at least four months prior to the required commencement date of the sponsorship so there is sufficient time to assess the opportunity, draft contracts and work together to develop a leveraging plan.
Sponsorship decisions
All sponsorship decisions are discretionary. Even if the criteria are fully or partially met, the sponsorship proposal may be declined due to budgetary constraints, competing priorities or other commercial reasons.
Sponsorship confirmation
You will receive an email response advising whether or not your proposal has been successful. If successful, your proposal will be submitted to the next stage of consideration within Bupa.
