Taking better control of your health is important to help you achieve the best health that you can.

At Bupa, we’re about supporting our members to bring positive change to their lives and maintain good health and wellbeing. To this end, we offer a range of programs that help our members achieve better health outcomes, manage your health for the long-term and live a healthier life.

We’ve partnered with leading health and research organisations in Australia to give our members access to information, resources and support programs to help improve their health.

Treating depression

Having a baby is an exciting time for you and your family. We understand it can also be a challenging period of change and adjustment.

At Bupa, we believe you deserve extra attention during this stage of your life. Our members have access to the Parent and Baby Wellbeing Program run by the Parent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI) at Austin Health.

PIRI is a leading Australian treatment research centre for parent and infant wellbeing that offers an exclusive support service for those who are finding the transition to parenthood difficult.

Our Parent and Baby Wellbing Program offers access to some valuable services through PIRI, including:

  • Confidential consultation and support over the phone
  • Identification of depression and anxiety to help provide the right care for you
  • Personalised follow-up support.

The Parent and Baby Wellbeing Program is available to Bupa members as part of your Hospital or Hospital and Extras health insurance cover.

Informed decisions in heart care

In the first program of its kind in Australia, Bupa is supporting Australia’s largest group of privately practising cardiologists — Genesis Heart Care — in a shared commitment to achieving better health outcomes for patients.

Bupa and Genesis Heart Care share a common objective, that’s why we actively partner to support our members with heart disease to better understand their condition, treatment, available care choices, and how they can make lifestyle decisions to improve their health.

This program can also help empower our members to make informed decisions about their health, so they can engage in effective conversations with their healthcare team and work toward the best health outcomes they can.

Bupa customers are also guaranteed no out-of-pocket expenses for inpatient cardiologist services.

Genesis Heart Care has over 58 cardiologists providing cardiology services across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and in regional New South Wales.
